SingleStone Media is a soon-to-launch investigative news organization producing short-form documentaries that expose the cruelty, exploitation, and systemic injustice of factory farming. Through emotionally driven, visually compelling storytelling, we connect animal suffering to human impact, environmental harm, and corporate greed—empowering audiences with clear action steps to help dismantle industrial animal agriculture.

Role Overview

We're looking for a strategic, data-driven social media leader to build SingleStone's digital presence from the ground up. You'll be responsible for launching and growing our brand across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook—using investigative video content to grow a consistently engaged, expanding audience.

You'll work directly with the Executive Director to optimize flagship videos for platform-specific performance, develop cross-platform distribution strategies, manage community engagement, and establish partnerships that amplify reach. Success in this role means demonstrable audience growth, engagement metrics, and a clear roadmap for scale by month 4–6.

Core Responsibilities

Audience Growth & Platform Strategy

  • Develop and execute a multi-platform growth strategy tailored to each channel (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook)

  • Optimize video content for discoverability: titles, thumbnails, metadata, hashtags, SEO, and platform-specific editing (cuts, captions, pacing)

  • A/B test content formats, posting schedules, and engagement tactics to identify what drives performance

  • Track and report on key metrics: follower growth, watch time, engagement rate, shares, click-through rates, and conversion to action (petition signs, newsletter signups, etc.)

Content Optimization & Distribution

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to adapt flagship 5–8 minute YouTube documentaries into platform-optimized cuts for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, and Facebook

  • Advise on content calendar planning to balance investigative docs, rapid response videos, and evergreen explainer content

  • Create or coordinate simple, on-brand graphics for news headlines, quotes, and story posts to maintain consistent presence between video drops

  • Ensure consistent brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across all platforms

Community Management

  • Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and audience engagement across all platforms to foster trust, dialogue, and community

  • Identify and elevate user-generated content, testimonials, or shares that amplify reach

Partnerships & Collaboration

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with aligned individuals, brands, advocacy organizations, and justice-focused movements to expand reach

  • Coordinate cross-promotion, collaborative content, and influencer engagement

  • Build relationships with other media outlets, journalists, and activists in the animal protection, labor, and environmental justice spaces

Paid Promotion & Tools

  • Run ads, boosting, and platform-specific promotional campaigns to accelerate growth

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide proactive recommendations on platform trends, emerging formats, and algorithm shifts

  • Lead quarterly strategy reviews with clear performance insights and recommendations for iteration

  • Identify opportunities for content experimentation, audience expansion, and collaboration

Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in social media strategy and audience growth, ideally for a news outlet, advocacy organization, or mission-driven media brand

  • Proven track record of building and scaling social media presence

  • Experience working with video-forward content across multiple platforms

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of platform algorithms, best practices, and optimization techniques for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook

  • Strong analytical skills: comfortable with platform analytics, Google Analytics, and A/B testing

  • Proficiency with social media management tools and optimization tools

  • Ability to create simple, on-brand graphics (headlines, quotes, story posts) using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools—or effectively coordinate with designers to get what you need

  • Strategic thinker who can translate creative content into measurable growth outcomes

  • Experience managing paid social campaigns and digital ad budgets

Compensation & Structure

  • Contract Rate: $7500 - $10,000/month based on experience 

  • Hours: 40/hr Week
